In House Solicitor

We have access to our own solicitor 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This has proven to be of real benefit to clients accessing the service.

24 Hour Support

Kickstart offers a 24 hour mobile support line. This is manned by the staff team, to maintain rapport and confidence with the client group. Once the client has been accepted on the programme, then the client will be given the mobile support phone number.

An action care plan is constructed at every stage of the interview and assessment process with the Clients. Because of the nature of the work of our service, we do not accept people with a history of the following: Paedophilia, Sex Offences, Terrorism, Arson and certain Violence related offences. (If further information regarding these issues is required, please contact our administration team.)

We do not offer day care provision for stable mental health clients.

During the interview and assessment process, urine sample tests maybe required from the Client. Once a Client is accepted onto the programme, we may randomly urine all Clients a minimum of twice per week.

If there are any issues that require further investigation then the client will be informed prior to any action. All communication during the interview process will be confirmed in writing to the Client.

Keyworking

Once a Client has been accepted onto the programme, the Client can choose their Key-worker, or in certain cases a Key-worker will be appointed because of their skills in relation to client’s specific needs. This is undertaken with the Client’s inclusion.

Key-workers will work with the daily needs of the Service User to assist recovery. Key-work session may be requested at any time by the Client. The sessions are to work in conjunction with the Client's care plan, in monitoring and facilitating progress made.

At the start of the programme, the Key-worker will take their client through the Kickstart Welcome Pack. This covers all day to day aspects of the programme.

Family Support

We believe that substance misuse affects all the family and we support and encourage family engagement into supportive services. We offer family mediation and family therapy as part of a Client's programme.

Working within confidentiality guidelines, we include and keep the Client's family / partners updated of the Client’s progress. This is usually done at 6 weekly reviews where the Client, all external bodies and family members involved in the Client’s recovery are invited to a core group meeting.
