We can do this with your help....
All runners will be asked to pledge to raise a minimum of £200 to take part in the Kickstart Running Team. For this, they will receive their official running number, a Kickstart T-shirt and be invited to a post-run family BBQ lunch at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria, Sheffield to share stories, compare times and medals, enjoy some well earned food and drink, and cool down before heading home.
We will also support the Kickstart runners during their training and hope to provide them with access to local gyms and training guides. This is designed to help them develop their training techniques, along with training tips which will be available via the Kickstart website www.kickstartsheffield.org
To make it easier to fundraise the sponsorship money, all runners can set up their own fundraising page using our Just Giving site www.justgiving.com/kcp

CELEBRITY TURN OUT FOR KICKSTART RUNNING TEAM!
Kickstart Community Programmes, a local charity helping people affected by substance misuse, were overwhelmed with the support and response from local businesses and sporting celebrities to take part in the Great Yorkshire Run this September at their official launch event at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria in May.
Championed by Richard Caborn MP, sporting celebrities including Kevin Blackwell, Uri Rennie, Bronze Olympic Tae Kwon Do winner Sarah Stevenson, Yuri Matischen, Johnny Nelson, Brian Laws have all signed up to take part in the Run and help raise the profile of Kickstart who need to raise £100,000 each year to be sustainable. Richard Caborn commented, "Kickstart is a great charity doing fantastic work with people to help them get clean from drugs. I am more than happy to give my support to them and take part in the Great Yorkshire Run on their behalf."
The theme of the launch was “Get your mind, body and business fit for 2009” and guest speakers Richard Caborn, Andy Hanselman, and Scott Wilson, an ex-client of Kickstart and current employee, all spoke candidly about how getting involved in an event like the Run can really make a difference not only to Kickstart but also to its beneficiaries.
70 local business and sporting people attended the launch and many signed up to join the Kickstart Running Team on the day. Lucinda White, Fundraiser and Event Manager for Kickstart said, "The support we have received this year is fantastic. I'd personally like to thank everyone who has signed up so far and a special thank you to Richard Caborn for his support and help in raising the profile of the charity to his network of contacts. With everyone's help, I truly believe we can reach our target and raise the necessary funds required to ensure Kickstart can continue to deliver the outstanding service for its clients."
